Answering Your Questions About a Butt Lift

Your most common Brazilian Butt Lift questions, answered.

What Is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a buttock augmentation procedure that uses your own fat — rather than implants — to naturally enhance the shape and fullness of your buttocks. Fat is gently harvested from areas such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs using S.A.F.E. Lipo techniques, then purified and strategically re-injected to sculpt beautifully proportioned curves.

How Is the Fat Transferred?

Because a BBL uses your body’s own fat, it avoids many of the risks associated with implants and delivers a softer, more authentic result. The liposuction step also slims the donor areas, so many patients enjoy a more contoured waistline in addition to enhanced curves.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

  • You would like fuller, more rounded, or more symmetrical buttocks
  • You have enough donor fat in other areas of the body
  • You are in good general health with realistic expectations
  • You have experienced flattening or sagging following weight loss or aging

What Is Recovery Like?

After your procedure you’ll wear a compression garment and avoid sitting or lying directly on your buttocks for a couple of weeks to protect the newly transferred fat. Most patients resume normal activities within about two weeks, following the personalized aftercare plan Dr. Derrick provides.

How Long Do Results Last?

The fat that survives the transfer is permanent. Maintaining a stable weight and healthy lifestyle helps preserve your results for years to come.
