What is Septorhinoplasty?
Septorhinoplasty is a procedure that does two things: it fixes your nose (rhinoplasty) and your nasal septum (septoplasty). The nasal septum is the narrow wall of tissue that separates the two nostrils. Some people are born with a deviated septum in which the nasal septum is crooked and blocks air passing through. The nasal septum can also be damaged by injuries and trauma to the nose. This nose surgery fixes both the outward appearance and inward structure of the nose.
Is It Safe?
Yes, your septorhinoplasty procedure will take place in a state-of-the-art surgery center with all of the most advanced instruments available to ensure a safe, effective procedure and a good outcome. Cosmetic Surgery of DFW is committed to giving you the best experience we can.
How is it Performed?
You can expect the procedure to last for about 2 1/2 hours and you will be given general anesthesia. A small incision is made inside the nose to lift and reposition it to open the airway. The nose is repositioned externally, and the small incision is then closed up. Final results will be visible within a few short weeks of your treatment.
Am I A Good Candidate?
A good candidate will be in good physical health, aged 16 or older if you are a woman and aged 18 or older if you are a man. It is important that growing is completed before nose surgery takes place. Realistic expectations and a desire to improve breathing and appearance of your nose both make you an ideal candidate as well.
Are The Results Permanent?
After you have completely healed from your procedure, your nose will keep its beautiful new shape, and your ability to breathe better will be there to stay! You don’t have to worry about your nose changing shape after it has healed and you can enjoy your new appearance and your ability to breathe better.
